Fiscal Stewardship

Jeff also serves as a board member and advocate for the Lake Onalaska Rehabilitation Coalition (LORC), where he works to restore and protect one of our region’s most vital natural resources. He regularly publishes blogs on Lake Onalaska and Mississippi River issues to help keep the community informed and engaged. In addition to this work, Jeff is an active member of the Brice Prairie Conservation Association and the Lake Onalaska Protection and Rehabilitation District, contributing to collaborative efforts that support conservation, responsible land use, and long‑term environmental health.

As a newly elected member of the La Crosse County Board, Jeff brings this same commitment to accountability, transparency, and impact‑driven decision‑making to his work on behalf of District 21.

Accountability I believe in setting clear priorities, measuring outcomes, and reporting back to the community. When decisions are made, residents deserve to know not only how funds are spent but also what results they achieve.

Transparency Open government builds trust. Budgets, spending decisions, and project updates should be accessible and easy to understand so every resident can see how their contributions are being used.

Impact‑driven investment Resources must be directed toward initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods, improve public safety, support local businesses, and enhance quality of life. By focusing on programs that deliver measurable benefits, we ensure that every dollar works harder for our community.

This approach is about more than balancing budgets. It’s about building a stronger, more resilient county—one where investments in infrastructure, education, and public services create lasting value. By managing taxpayer dollars wisely, we can expand opportunities, protect essential services, and ensure that no resources are wasted.

Open communication & collaboration

Ensuring residents feel heard, informed, and included in decision‑making is more than a guiding principle, it is the foundation of effective governance. By actively listening to community voices, providing clear and accessible information, and creating opportunities for meaningful participation, you demonstrate that government is not something done to people, but with them. This approach reflects your hallmark strength as both a listener and collaborator, fostering transparency and accountability while building trust between county leadership and the community.

When residents see their concerns acknowledged and their ideas shaping outcomes, they gain confidence that their government values them as partners. This collaborative spirit strengthens civic engagement, encourages diverse perspectives, and ensures that decisions reflect the needs and aspirations of the entire community. Ultimately, it transforms government from a distant institution into a trusted ally—one that empowers residents, nurtures belonging, and advances shared progress.

Environmental & community stewardship

Protecting natural resources like the Mississippi River through your work with Lake Onalaska Rehabilitation Coalition (LORC) is not just environmental stewardship; it is a commitment to safeguarding the lifeblood of our region for generations to come. By championing conservation initiatives, you ensure that the river remains a source of clean water, recreation, and cultural identity, while also preserving the ecosystems that sustain local communities.

Economic Development

La Crosse thrives when local businesses, entrepreneurs, and families have the tools they need to succeed. My approach to economic development is rooted in collaboration and fiscal responsibility. By listening to community voices and aligning resources with real needs, we can:

  • Support local businesses with policies that encourage growth and stability.

  • Welcome new opportunities that bring jobs and innovation to our county.

  • Strengthen entrepreneurship by reducing barriers and fostering a supportive environment.

  • Ensure families prosper by connecting economic growth to affordable housing, infrastructure, and community well-being.

As a leader, I know how to balance priorities and manage complex systems. I will bring that same skill to the County Board—building solutions that grow our economy while protecting taxpayer dollars.

Take action

After learning about my priorities, I hope people will take action by voting in the upcoming election and encouraging friends and neighbors to do the same. Beyond casting a ballot, I welcome those who share my vision for practical, community-driven leadership to get involved, whether by volunteering their time, spreading the word, or supporting the campaign in other ways. Together, we can ensure responsible stewardship of resources and a stronger future for La Crosse County.
